The Heart of Lakeside

We are in need of volunteers for the Gift Shop, Social Action projects, ushering at High Holy Day services and the Temple office. Please contact the Lakeside office at 847-432-7950 to help out. In many cases volunteer schedules can be flexible to meet your time constraints.

Community Mitzvah Opportunities
Ongoing: We currently have members involved in preparing / serving food many months of the year through the Beth Emet Soup Kitchen. Please contact the Temple office for more information and to participate.

Every Day is

Mitzvah Day!

Mitzvah Day:
Each year in May our congregation participates in a day of Mitzvah projects that require more than a few people to complete. In 2006, 402 congregants participated. 15 projects ranged from working on efforts for the synagogue itself to outreach including the Heller Nature Center, Friedman Place for the Blind, and Brentwood Elder Care. Please contact the Lakeside office at 847-432-7950 to find out how you can do your part.

Mitzvah opportunities throughout the Year: Many congregants are involved in other volunteer efforts in the Chicago area. From time to time we will feature some of those opportunities at this location on our web site.
